Mary Beth Roach
Working with all of the groups who put on events in the parks of the city of Syracuse is no easy task. Our next inductee, Mary Beth Roach, has seen it all. Every festival known to man, running events, crawfish festivals, Christmas tree lightings, and so much more.
Mary Beth Roach was the point person in the parks department for the Mountain Goat for many years. She supervised getting Clinton square ready for race day, coordinating city services and generally did not break down over our endless requests. She knew every form, agency and protocol needed to be completed in order to set 2,500 runners loose in the streets of Syracuse.
Recently, Mary Beth was promoted to deputy commissioner of the parks department and she made sure that Brittany Farmer, our new coordinator, was prepared and ready for the job.
